As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking's Post Trade Technology, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

 

Job responsibilities

Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise Proven track record as a hands-on java technical lead, delivering high quality consistent systems and environments Experience in Core Java and J2EE frameworks, Micro services, Spring/Hibernate and various Apache libraries Ability and willingness to lead global team of developers, perform code reviews and mentor junior team members as needed. Extensive core Java (version 17 or higher) development experience with Spring-boot or similar frameworks Experience with two or more database technologies like Oracle , Cassandra or Mongo DB Experience in building high throughput platforms using Kafka technology Experience in building reusable services frameworks and/or opinionated libraries consumed by other development teams Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods, all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency and Security, practical cloud native experience Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience developing open source libraries or internal libraries that are integrated into applications by other internal teams  Experience working on high throughput mission critical high performance STP platforms and ability to understand architecture and design across distributed systems.  Experience with Cloud native software deployment ideally AWS, Kubernetes, and message bus technologies such as Kafka or AMPS  Experience working in a DevOps - focused environment previously with advanced understanding of DevOps principles as a plus.  Prior experience with enterprise reference data platforms is a big plus and experience in the financial industry
