Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDrives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on cloud engineering concepts and proficient advanced experienceExtensive practical experience with at least one public cloud (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services)Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s):  Python, Java, GolangAbility to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightExperience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsHands-on practical experience with Infrastructure As Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation)Practical cloud native experience including containerization and KubernetesRelevant public cloud certifications (GCP Cloud Architect, GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS CloudOps Engineer etc.)Experience building and operating observability platforms for large organisations (GCP Cloud Logging, GCP Cloud Monitoring, AWS CloudWatch)
