Job responsibilities
Provides guidance and manages a team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities to deliver high quality softwareParticipate in design sessions with fellow programmers, business analysts, Product Owners and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solutionExecutes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsPrimarily, design and implement secure and robust REST APIs using technologies such as Java Spring Boot and Spring MVC for cloud native micro-service applications
Demonstrates overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle with solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Participate in code reviews. Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java , Cloud , Microservices , Containers/Dockers/Kubernetes , Kafka , Pl/SQL , Oracle Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightAbility to understand UI technologies such as JavaScript / React and experience in building enterprise applicationsProficient in automation, continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleExtensive knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment.Passionate about learning emerging technologies Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Hands on experience with writing functional code - Java , Cloud , Microservices , Containers/Dockers/Kubernetes , Kafka , Pl/SQL , Oracle Experience working and collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones
