Job responsibilities

Provides overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level data engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksMakes strategic decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and implementation of processes and proceduresEnsures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

7+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.Experience leading teams of data engineers.

Experienced in SQL, with the ability to design and optimize complex queries and database structures.

Extensive experience in managing the full lifecycle of data, from collection and storage to analysis and reporting

Ability to guide and coach teams in order to achieve goals aligned to strategic initiatives.Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Deep understanding of NoSQL databases and their strategic applications within the industry.

Proficient in Python to effectively meet future and evolving data needs, while adeptly tackling complex data logic challenges and designing sophisticated workflows for problem-solving.
