Job responsibilities
Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworksRegularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDrives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectIdentifies opportunities to integrate technology preferences into existing engineering tools and pipelines to ease the adoption of strategic productsAuthors patterns and blueprints to guide the implementation of technical preferencesPartner with application owners, infrastructure teams, risk, and compliance groups to understand requirements, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus on architecture and technology choices.Influence and coordinate with senior stakeholders and technology communities across the firm to encourage the implementation and use of the technology preferences framework.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architectureAdvanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightAbility to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architectureAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectExperience designing architecture for both on premises and Public Cloud systemsExperience implementing Resiliency requirements for large scale systemsPractical experience implementing Risk, Controls and Regulatory requirementsExperience running large scale transformation programmes
