Are you a developer who values working with other self-starters to build software with a meaningful mission?

 

As a Senior Java Developer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering software features, APIs, and microservice solutions. We are looking for candidates with experience with 3-5 years experience writing software using Agile and DevSecOps methods such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and test automation.

Contributions

Responsibilities 

 

Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems using Java / ReactCollaborate with stakeholders, designers, and business analysts to refine requirementsTroubleshoot software quality, security, and reliability issues Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities Automate unit and functional tests Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixesSupport debugging, troubleshooting, and testing of software Document software code, features, and training guides Use virtualization and containerization to optimize software systems Implement solutions and provide continuous improvement recommendationsPresent technical solutions and demos to a variety of stakeholdersAct as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members  Qualifications

Required Skills

5+ years experience with JavaAbility to obtain a public trustInterest in working in a social teamMission focused and a self starter/independent and scrappySomeone who enjoys less formality and more freedomExcellent communication and teamwork skills Demonstrate sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.5+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices 5+ years of experience with building software using agile methodsExperience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databasesExperience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system.Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and DockerExperience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requestsExperience working in HCD, Agile and DevSecOps environments

Preferred Skills / Attributes

Experience in paired programming and Extreme ProgrammingWilling to learn Ruby and associated frameworks (e.g Ruby on Rails)Experience Lean Design, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)A passion to contribute to the full stack – the front-end, backend and anything in-between (middleware or otherwise). Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $170,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
