SENIOR IT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. Summary: The Senior IT Systems Specialist is responsible for installing and maintaining operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance. This role will be a technical expert, providing support remotely, as well as, at production locations performing maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization. This position may require some travel to remote Alaska sites.  

Essential Functions:

Performs routine analysis to include evaluation of hardware and software based on business processes and end user criteria.   Directly interacts with assigned managers and staff to resolve hardware and software-based issues, as well as, providing automation services as needed in support of strategic and operational objectives.   Develops and maintains system specifications and technical documentation  Monitors datacenter health and responds to issues as they arise; provides recommendations for improving the server environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gaps, patch levels and hardware recalls.   Maintains factory support software including, production inventory, labeling, factory and energy management, etc.; fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security.   Identifies project requirements by interviewing stakeholders, analyzing operations, determining project scope, and documenting results.  Maintains systems by researching and resolving problems, maintaining systems integrity, and administering security.  Reviews changes and upcoming developments in software applications  Creates documentation for supported systems and enhancements.  Designs, tests, and modifies applications, modules and/or approaches and required enhancements.  Performs advanced analysis and troubleshooting for various applications.  

Additional Responsibilities:    

Acts as liaison between Information Technology vendors and Trident Seafoods as needed.  May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to less experienced team members.   Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions Regularly works onsite to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $120,000 to $145,000.
