Job Description Summary

This is a Senior role within the Internal Audit Department, reporting to the Director of IT Audit and Data Analytics. This role is responsible for the planning and execution of both IT audit/advisory review engagements and data analytics projects and activities for the department with a strong emphasis on internal audit data analytics. The Senior IT and Data Analytics Auditor should have a proven track record of using data analytics to drive business insights and improvements, showcasing their ability to apply innovative solutions to complex problems, while also demonstrating robust auditing experience to ensure thorough evaluation and accuracy. A key priority for this role will be to execute data analytics and automation projects in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment in accordance with internal audit methodology and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards. Working autonomously as well as in collaboration with other members, the Senior IT and Data Analytics Auditor will support in various aspects of internal audit processes such as risk assessments, audit planning and execution, issue management and special department initiatives for continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in creating detailed reports and performing complex analyses using modern data technologies like Power BI, Alteryx, Python, Azure and related cloud offerings. In addition, they will have experience with auditing practices, methodologies, and compliance frameworks, enabling them to bridge data analytics with internal audit objectives effectively. The candidate is expected to build a strong network across rapidly changing IT and Global Financial organizations and rotate into a position of increasing responsibility within the next 4-5 years.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

                

Partner closely with ISRS, TDS, and Business stakeholders to deliver advisory services to the business and control stakeholders to ensure quality, consistency and operability of new and existing controls and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.Ability to ‘coach others’, and ‘be coached’ (by peers, management, and partners).Sufficient understanding of: ITGCs, Cybersecurity, Cloud, GRC, SDLC, and Artificial Intelligence.Assist the Director of IT Audit and Data Analytics in leading the department to develop, implement and drive the data analytics strategy for the Internal Audit DepartmentContributes to department strategies and initiatives including control identification and testing.Develop data analytics dashboards and monitoring tools for both internal and external stakeholders.Actively collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders on data analytics projects such as key risk indicators, continuous auditing, and risk assessments.Manages objectives, scope, time, budget, and resources for data analytics audit projects.Provides expert advice to management to resolve complex issues through innovative solutions.Collaborate with the data architects and data engineers to analyze data, identify gaps, and suggest enhancements.Provide continuous education training to staff and seniors on data analytics techniques and toolsBuilds expertise in multiple areas of data analytics and technical accounting, IT, and cybersecurity topicsActs as the main point of contact for all internal audit projects and activities related to data analytics within the Internal Audit Department.Ability to be flexible and pinch-hit where needed.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Education and/or Experience):

3-5 years of performing internal Audit data analytics and IT audits with a public accounting firm and/or internal auditing or data analytics role within a large organization ($1 billion or more in revenues and/or expenses).Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields (Accounting/Finance, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, etc.)Demonstrates knowledge of IIA Professional Practices and StandardsStrong organizational skills and the ability to handle competing priorities, while meeting all deadlinesDemonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.Demonstrates ability to collaborate and build relationships with Senior Leadership and colleagues.Strong written and verbal communications skills, including listening and interviewing skills and influencing skills with ability to discuss complex issues clearly.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry preferred.Master’s degree in data science from a highly ranked university (preferred)

WORKING CONDITIONS and/or PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Located in Chicago, IL.Ability to travel 10 – 25% as needed.Hybrid - 3 days in the office.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
