The **Senior Internal Auditor** plays a key role in providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes across the organization. This role involves planning and executing complex audits, identifying operational inefficiencies, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen the company’s internal control environment. The Senior Auditor also contributes to the enhancement of audit methodologies, the use of data analytics, and the professional development of the audit team.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Audit Planning & Execution**
+ Lead and execute internal audits in line with the approved annual audit plan and Internal Audit methodology.
+ Conducting the risk assessment related to the audited entity or process, identifying the key risks and developing detailed audit work programs, test procedures, and sampling plans consistent with IIA Global Internal Audit Standards to ensure that identified risks are properly mitigated
+ Performing audit tests to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and internal control activities and identify potential weaknesses, risks, or areas for improvement.
+ Assessing potential risks associated with inefficient, control gaps, and/or lack of formalized processes and procedures
+ Issuing value added recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and control maturity of the Group
+ Contributing and sharing insights, emerging risks, and best practices across Syensqo Group
+ **Audit Reporting & Audit Follow-up**
+ Prepare clear, concise, and impactful audit reports summarizing audit findings and recommendations.
+ Present audit results and improvement suggestions to management and relevant stakeholders.
+ Monitor and follow up on audit findings to ensure agreed corrective actions are timely implemented.
+ **Mentoring & Collaboration**
+ Coach and share best practices among Internal Auditors
+ Establish solid working relationships with business stakeholders and contribute to Internal Audit being seen as a trusted business partner
+ **Continuous Improvement & Innovation**
+ Actively participate in continuous improvement internal projects such as Digitalization of Audit Methodologies and update of Internal Audit Working Programs
**You will bring:**
Education and experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering/Science required, Master’s Degree is preferred
+ Professional experience required
+ At least 5 years of External Auditing (i.e. Big 4) or Internal Auditing experience.
+ OR at least 5 years of operational experience Financial area (finance, accounting, controlling, etc.)
+ Experience with the digitalization of processes and/or data analytics preferred
Skills
+ Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
+ Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus (e.g. French, German, Portuguese & Italian)
+ You are a global learner: drive to learn, understand and adapt to various thinking, learning styles and cultural profiles
+ Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% (including overnight stays) throughout different time zones
