Industrial Hygiene Technician Job Description As a Industrial Hygiene Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental safety by conducting inspections and on-site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint, and indoor air quality. You will perform detailed surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your responsibilities will also include air monitoring and contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects, maintaining and calibrating a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment, and writing technical reports while interpreting analytical data. Responsibilities + Inspect and monitor sites for asbestos, mold, lead paint, and indoor air quality. + Conduct detailed surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, right to know, and mold. + Perform air monitoring and provide contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects. + Maintain, operate, and calibrate various sampling and monitoring equipment. + Write technical reports and interpret analytical data. + Demonstrate timeliness, time management, and ability to meet deadlines. + Respond promptly to emergencies. + Complete assignments of varying complexity under the direction of a project manager. Essential Skills + Minimum of 4 years of relative industrial hygiene and field experience. + Certifications in Asbestos, Lead Paint, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). + Proficiency in industrial hygiene, OSHA regulations, and environmental health and safety. + Experience in hazardous material inspection, air quality management, and environmental compliance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Mechanical/Trade School Diploma or Associate degree preferred. + OSHA 30 certification is advantageous.
