Senior Incident Response Analyst

The Senior Incident Response Analyst responds to security incidents in accordance with established policies and best practices. Incident handlers guide Tier 1 and other first responders on the proper handling of Information Security incidents, coordinate efforts among multiple business units during the response, and provide timely updates to these units as required.  The Senior Incident Responder (IR) is a key member of the Thomson Reuters Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) organization responsible for analyzing, triaging, scoping, containing, providing remediation guidance, and determining the root cause of security incidents. In this role, you will use data analysis, threat intelligence, and cutting-edge security technologies.

About the role:
As a Senior Incident Response Analyst, you will:

Provide expertise on incident response, forensic, and malware analysisPrimary escalation point for SOCDevelop, document, and implement runbooks, capabilities, and techniques for IRPerform triage and analysis on workstations, servers, and network infrastructureIdentify and analyze malware using live forensics, hard drive forensics, sandboxes, and reverse engineeringIdentify indicators of compromise and apply them to the incident response processPerform activities necessary for immediate containment and rapid resolution of incidentsMaintain current knowledge and understanding of the threat landscape, emerging security threats, and vulnerabilitiesAssisting in building SOC and CIRT processes, procedures, and trainingCreating and enhancing standard operating procedures and technical guidesAssist in the creation and tuning of network and host detection signatures based on user behavior analysis and threat intelligence.Stay informed about current technologies, developments, security compliance requirements, standards, and industry trends to help achieve the company's goals.Maintain a high level of confidentiality.Coordinate and drive efforts during response activities and post-mortemParticipate in after-hours on-call rotation when requiredPerform deep dive investigations to determine the root cause of complex information security incidentsMaintain a balance between IR and project workOccasional travel may be required


About you
To be considered for the role, you will have:

3-5 years of experienceExperience using event escalation and reporting proceduresExperience supporting Network Investigations.Understanding TCP/IP communications & knowledge of how standard protocols and applications work at the network level, including DNS, HTTP, and SMBUnderstanding UNIX, Windows, Mac operating systems, and command line toolsExperience performing forensics on various OS, including disk and memoryExperience and understanding of various Artificial Intelligence platformsIntermediate skills using Windows CMD line, PowerShell, and Linux BashKnowledge of how the Windows file system and registry functionAbility to learn and operate in a dynamic environmentAbility to demonstrate analytical expertise, close attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, logic, and solution orientation, and to learn and adapt quicklyKnowledge of network monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and configuration control technologiesStrong oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of scripting languages used with IR and automation
