The Payroll Administrator Senior will ensure speed and accuracy of payroll processing with responsibility for all payroll related processing, including statutory tax filings and associated general ledger entries. This position will serve as liaison to employees, managers, Human Resources, Information Technology, and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll is processed in accordance with company-specific pay polices (e.g. vacation, overtime, LOA, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.).
Responsibilities:
Accurately process applicable payroll processes in compliance with country and location specific laws and meeting company deadlinesReconcile and analyze payments for payroll tax withholdings, retirement plan contributions, garnishments, and all other withholdings ensuring that statutory due dates are metPrepare payroll journal entries and provide support to Accounting on payroll account reconciliationsAudit HRIS interface data from HR status updates for increases, new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefit changes, address changes, and title and department changesMaintain accurate and timely employee payroll data including attendance and vacation recordsProcess all non-cash compensation transactions including stock options, employee awards, relocations and other programsRegister and maintain tax agency accountsPrepare and process year end wage tax informationExecute and maintain all court-ordered withholdingsCreate ad hoc reports upon requestDocument and update all payroll procedures as neededMaintain proper payroll records to support internal and external auditsKeep current on all payroll-related laws, policies and regulations through on-line and written resources, and attending payroll seminars as neededProvide support participate in all payroll system upgrades and integration projects as neededMaintain strict confidentiality of payroll recordsDocuments payroll processes and procedures; may train payroll department staff. May back up those who perform specialized tasks or activities such as stock option exercises, bonus payments, imputed income recording, government agency document filing, or sales commission paymentsDocuments payroll processes and procedures; may train payroll department staffSpecial projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma requiredTypically requires 2-4 years of related experienceSolid knowledge of statutory payroll laws and payroll accounting practices to handle moderately difficult assignmentsAbility to work independently to meet all payroll and accounting deadlines• Fluent level of English (written and verbal) as well as local language as applicablePreferred Qualifications:
Highly organized, detail minded, and able to analyze complex payroll transactionsBachelor Degree - Accounting , financeAbility to communicate effectively both oral and written with a customer service approachAbility to work within a team environment and possess skills to support process changeAbility to operate as escalation point for junior team membersCompetency in spreadsheet and word processing applications
