Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking two Senior Financial Analysts to support various sides of the business. These roles will report to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and will be integral to the FP&A functions, focusing on operational areas and financial planning to provide insights that inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

SFA 1: Maintain financial models and drive analysis for Systems Operations, Mechanical, Health & Safety, and CAPEX financial planning.SFA 2: Maintain financial models and drive analysis for Onboard and Destinations Train Operations and People and Culture financial planning.Proactively partner with various teams to identify and monitor spending trends, ensuring alignment with profitability, growth, and efficiency targets.Assist departments in preparing budget submissions and reviews that adhere to policy and regulatory requirements.Evaluate the impact of route changes, expenditures, and investments, ensuring alignment with business strategy.Support CAPEX budget planning and track capital projects, ensuring compliance with financial policies.Perform ROI analysis for operational areas and CAPEX projects to contribute to business cases for major investments.Support and maintain the corporate financial model, including forecasting and scenario analysis.Monitor KPIs to identify trends and deliver insights to key business partners.Conduct monthly variance analysis to provide timely financial insights.Build trusting relationships with various operational teams to foster data-driven decision-making.Partner with the Data & Insights team to analyze metrics and provide meaningful financial analysis.Serve as a key liaison between operational and CAPEX teams to ensure alignment with business strategy.Work collaboratively with Accounting to deliver accurate financial reporting.Promote a team-oriented mindset, driving collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

7+ years’ experience in progressive financial positions.3+ years’ experience in FP&A with expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.Designated CPA, ACCA, CMA, CGA, or CFA.Proficiency in Excel, NetSuite or Oracle, and financial reporting tools.Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with FP&A focusing on Operations.Ability to evaluate operational team investments and CAPEX projects.Analytical mindset with curiosity to understand business drivers.Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with stakeholders.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule, with the ability to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and a 40-hour workweek. You will work closely with a team of 5 FP&A resources and liaise with business leaders within the portfolio of departments they support, as well as the Finance/Accounting team. The office is located downtown on the 10th and 11th floors in an open concept space with various amenities including an onsite kitchen, cafes, and lunch spots. The dress code is business casual, and the location is easily accessible by transit.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
