Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in project financials, utilizing their strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive impactful decisions. This position requires excellent communication and presentation abilities, as well as an adaptive and continuous learning mindset.

Responsibilities

Conduct data analytics and present findings to stakeholders.Communicate effectively with vendorsBuild total cost of ownership (TCO) and should‑cost models to support negotiation strategy; quantify trade‑offs (price, service levels, risk, flexibility).Partner with Legal and Procurement to optimize commercial clauses (indexation, volume discounts, rebates, termination rights), reducing leakage and improving contract value realization.Conduct RFP/RFQ financial analyses, weighting price, risk, service quality, and lifecycle costs to recommend best‑value awards.Establish contract performance guardrails (KPIs, penalties/credits, change control) and monitor adherence to minimize scope creep and unplanned spend.Lead financial evaluation and negotiate vendor contracts, SOWs, MSAs, and rate cards, securing favorable pricing, payment terms, and SLAs that align with cash flow and budget targetsBuild total cost of ownership (TCO) and should‑cost models to support negotiation strategy; quantify trade‑offs (price, service levels, risk, flexibility).Partner with Legal and Procurement to optimize commercial clauses (indexation, volume discounts, rebates, termination rights), reducing leakage and improving contract value realization.Perform cost analysis and project management.Drive cost‑reduction initiatives across projects and run‑the‑business spend through demand management, rate optimization, and vendor consolidation.Perform variance analysis and root‑cause diagnostics on project budgets vs. actuals; implement corrective action plans to bring projects back on track.Own the vendor financial scorecard (cost, service levels, delivery, quality, risk); conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.Monitor SLA adherence, dispute overages/under‑delivery, and enforce contractual credits or gainshare mechanisms where applicable.Handle ad-hoc requests for data analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and building presentations for executives.Provide ad-hoc project support as needed.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in financial analysis and project finance.Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills.Expertise in data analysis and presentation.Proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.Ability to forecast and conduct variance analysis.Solid understanding of financial statements, FP&A, and budgeting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Clarity (project management tool).Background in project finance.Proficiency in Power BI and SQL.Data analytics mindset.MBA degree preferred.CPA certification is a nice-to-have.

Work Environment

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Business Management within a team of 5-6 individuals. It is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence 2-3 days a week at Toronto's First Canadian Place. The work environment encourages collaboration and innovation, providing a strong chance for the right candidate to convert to a full-time position.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $44.00/hr.
