Senior Financial Analyst
Job Title: Financial Analyst Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will carry out advanced financial analysis to support strategic financial planning and reporting services within the department. The role involves participating in consolidation, operating budgets, and various aspects of financial management, including KPIs, forecasting, modeling, costing, and other analyses. The successful candidate will also provide financial advisory services to business leaders across the organization.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the development of the consolidated operating budget for the rail division, offering information and advice on budget strategy, standards, policies, and processes.Conduct forecasting, modeling, costing, and analysis to aid strategic financial planning and decision-making for the rail division.Develop regular and ad hoc draft financial reporting, including quarterly/annual internal reporting, financial reporting for the Board, and TransLink reporting.Provide financial advisory services to business leaders, interpreting financial data to deliver meaningful information and consultation as needed.Support the contract services team with financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.Assist the Manager in identifying risks and opportunities related to areas of accountability and ensure the Manager is informed of critical issues as they arise.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of work, maintaining alignment with TransLink standards, policies, and processes, and compliance with regulatory and other requirements.Manage SFA resources in the Manager's absence.Essential Skills5+ years of FP&A experience.Experience in budgeting within a large complex organization, including operations and maintenance in a unionized environment.Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivots, sum ifs, V Look Ups, and data cleanup.Modeling experience within Excel.Additional Skills & Qualifications5 years of Canadian experience.Experience in supervising, leading, or managing others.Experience with system implementations or working within operations and maintenance.Programming macros experience.Positive and hardworking attitude.Attention to detail.Willingness to suggest system improvements.Flexibility and adaptability.Must be willing to seek guidance and ask for help.Work Environment

The role is based in a transit-friendly, centralized location, operating within a large and reputable crown corporation. The position involves working four days a week in the office located near Kingsway by Metrotown. The work environment is business casual, with a 37.5-hour workweek. The team consists of four SFAs and one manager, and the role offers potential opportunities to transition to other contract or full-time roles within the organization. Benefits include full medical/dental, cashback incentive, vacation, pension plan, and an exempt benefit plan with a choice of time or money.

The pay range for this position is $48.71 - $55.00/hr.
