Senior Financial Analyst, Amazon Transportation Claims and Insurance Finance
Amazon
Description
Amazon's "Last Mile" Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program is responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to households/businesses across the planet. Our finance team closely partners to support this rapidly expanding business while building a portfolio of delivery stations, vans, and technology to deliver customers' packages on time - often next day, sometimes faster. We augment our traditional "deliver by van" with other models including Amazon Flex (gig economy drivers), Amazon Lockers, and more. Join us in building one of the largest and most innovative delivery networks on the planet.
We're hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to oversee DSP Day One Insurance (D1I), our comprehensive insurance program that protects thousands of delivery service partners across North America. This high-visibility role blends FP&A, business partnership, and controllership, working with stakeholders across Insurance, Safety, Product, Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams to drive program success.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, excel in stakeholder management, and demonstrate expertise in analyzing large datasets. They should be proficient in MS Excel, SQL, and Amazon Quicksight to handle the scale and complexity of our operations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without authority, often presenting complex financial analyses to senior leadership to drive program improvements and cost optimization.
Key job responsibilities
- Deliver month-end close, weekly forecasting, quarterly/annual/strategic planning, and reporting for the DSP D1I P&L
- Support financial analysis of strategic initiatives that directly impact program costs and leadership decision making
- Analyze overarching business trends and cost drivers across Last Mile
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through financial analysis and process improvements
- Partner with the Last Mile Insurance team on actuarial trends, profitability analysis, and claim management strategies that impact both P&L and balance sheet reserves
- Drive focus on root causes of claims and safety incident reduction initiatives
- Develop claim analytics and contribute to leadership business reviews
- Own and maintain SOX controls to ensure compliance across our rapidly scaling operation
