Senior Finance Analyst

As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role. **Job Description:** **Department Overview:** Corporate Segment Finance is responsible for developing and delivering financial strategy, information and management support to the corporate areas of TD Bank Financial Group. The team’s responsibilities and deliverables include management reporting, forecasting and planning, performance measurement and strategic business analysis. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Segment Finance, the incumbent will be responsible for providing financial analysis, advice and support to assigned functions, as well as reporting and forecasting. Additionally, this position works closely with partners on corporate and segment Finance teams. The ideal candidate has several years experience providing analytical and advisory support to business partners and is self-motivated. Key Responsibilities: + Perform the role of business advisor to HR leaders and their teams as it relates to financial management + Provide financial planning, reporting and forecasting and prepare executive presentations to communicate results, including: + Monthly reporting and analysis of expenses – monitor financial performance, provide variance analysis, understanding and insightful commentary + Monthly and quarterly forecasting – know the business and provide meaningful insights for lines of business to make informed and effective business decisions. + Conduct the annual planning process for Corporate and Segment expenses including base and project budgets. + Assist in the development of presentation materials intended to communicate results to business leaders + Proactively identify business opportunities warranting further review and analysis; identify and assist business in solving any challenges + Develop and maintain solid and effective working relationship with Business Partners, Segment Finance, and other stakeholders + Deliver ad hoc analyses and participate in initiatives on behalf of the Corporate Segment Finance team. Provide training as required to aid partner understandings. + Know and adhere to relevant compliance, professional standards, regulatory guidelines and bank policies. **Job Requirements** + Excellent analytical, problem-resolution, and organizational skills are required – able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations and recommendations to management + Strong business acumen with a “value-added” mindset - ability to consolidate information into clear and concise analysis. + Ability to effectively work under tight timelines and prioritize multiple deliverables to ensure that deadlines are met + Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization + Proven ability to work effectively with teams and individually + Agility and speed to proactively identify and resolve issues + High competency level with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Hyperion and OBI is also considered an asset Education and Accreditation: + Undergraduate degree in business with relevant professional designation (CPA) preferred + 5+ years experience in Finance with proven relationship management and advisory experience in a medium to large organization that operates using best practices and performance management processes + Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities + Strong abilities in analysis and thought-leadership to establish recommendations, advice and suggested action planning to foster and support decision making; and the ability to communicate it in a way to prompt expected results. + Familiarity with TD’s reporting systems and/or process across the organization considered a strong asset + Previous experience in planning, forecasting, expense management and financial analysis considered an asset **Who We Are:** TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
