About the Role

The Senior Director will serve as a key financial leader responsible for consolidated reporting, general ledger governance, fixed asset oversight, revenue cycle accounting, and audit coordination. This role also serves as the primary financial and operational contact for the organization’s captive insurance entity. The Director will partner closely with Senior leadership, operational executives, and internal committees to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls.

This is an on‑site role, Monday through Friday, at the system’s corporate offices in Springfield, MA.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and AnalysisLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting at both the entity level and consolidated health system level.Perform variance analysis, prepare management reports, and support financial presentations for committees and the Board.Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies.General Ledger and Systems OversightDevelop and maintain the organization’s chart of accounts and general ledger structure.Reconcile accounts, interfaces, and bank statements.Coordinate system upgrades, workflow enhancements, and financial reporting improvements in collaboration with IT and external vendors.Audit, Compliance, and Policy LeadershipPrepare year‑end financial statements and audit schedules for external audit review.Manage third‑party contractual allowances, reserves, and Crowe RCA maintenance.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.Lead tax filings including Forms 1120, 990, 990T, 1099, and abandoned property filings.Grants, Research, and Sponsored ProgramsOversee grant accounting, monthly reconciliations, and year‑end audit preparation.Partner with Sponsored Programs Administration to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance.Fixed Asset and Insurance AccountingMaintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and gain/loss reporting.Manage procurement and disposal policies for property, plant, and equipment.Serve as the lead financial contact for the organization’s captive insurance company.Cross‑Functional and Executive CollaborationServe as a liaison between Finance, operations, product lines, and external stakeholders.Represent Finance on committees, task forces, and strategic meetings.Provide financial expertise, research guidance, and interpretation of new accounting standards.Required Experience and QualificationsBachelor’s degree required.Extensive experience in financial reporting, audit, GAAP compliance, and complex healthcare or nonprofit environments.Strong understanding of revenue cycle, fixed asset accounting, and enterprise-level financial operations.Advanced analytical skills and strong communication abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and general ledger systems.Preferred QualificationsExperience with grants accounting and Sponsored Program Administration.Familiarity with the Crowe RCA system.Background supporting joint ventures or strategic partnerships.Prior leadership roles in a large healthcare organization.Work Environment

This is an on‑site position within a large, complex healthcare system offering a collaborative environment, modern financial tools, and high exposure to Senior leadership. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $88.94 - $96.15/hr.
