About the Team
Enterprise Business Services @ IDC Bangalore and Chennai in India are focused on data driven, highly optimized products and implementations in the areas of Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and Retail business functions for multiple Walmart markets with open stack technologies and other ERP tools.
As part of the EBS Associate Experience and Digital Transformation (AEDT) team, you build platforms, systems, and tools that simplify associates' daily lives and enable greater productivity overall. One of our primary functions is building the associate super-agent platform, Squiggly. This platform provides a single pane of glass for associates to discover and interact with all Walmart agentic experience. We also build systems and agents to delight associates in their day-to-day lives, be it help finding summarizing their day, booking meetings, searching for information across Walmart, etc. This team is at the forefront of transforming how work is done at Walmart.
What you'll do:
· Drive Software architecture and deliver scalable Distributed systems.
· Technical leadership in building a complex open stack microservices based platform or product that are highly reliable, and scalable.
· Provide guidance in applying the right architectural design pattern for the modernization of the applications by analyzing the gaps between existing architecture and new business requirements.
· Drive automation using more adoption and maturity on the CICD stage gates for the applications.
· Drive implementation of telemetry features based on the domain requirements to improve the overall operational excellence of the application.
· Drive strategic technical decisions to transform our current SaaS products into home grown full-stack products.
· Establish durable ways of working with product peers and other internal engineering teams to drive our product roadmap.
· Build and coach a team of managers and senior ICs and align their strengths to outcomes.
· Foster a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
What you’ll bring:
· Deep working knowledge of all aspects of Cloud native distributed system development.
· Technical Proficiency in one or more of the languages such as Java, Python, React Native, Node JS, React JS, GraphQL
· Experience working with micro-services architecture, distributed systems, and applying design patterns.
· Experience in all areas of engineering including DevOps, Chaos Engineering, SRE, and on-call rotations to assure service availability and operational excellence.
· Experience managing software development engineers, leaders, architects and leading engineering projects, guiding engineering teams on engineering excellence & solid system design.
· Ability to clearly articulate a technical vision and energize engineers towards outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications (Manager's Ideal Candidate Must-Haves (skills required))
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field degree and minimum of 10+ years’ experience in software development.
· Minimum 6-8 years of experience building highly scalable, high performance, responsive software Applications.
· Proven industry experience with large scale distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications (Manager's Preferred Qualifications (3-5 "nice to haves")
· Highly technical hands-on, proficient in designing Tier 0 systems and an effective people leader
· Experience building resilient Tier 0 production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)
· Attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced start-up like environment.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
· Has ambition and vigor to add value to a rapidly growing development team.
