Senior Director, Merchandising (Kids' and Baby)
Position Summary...This Omnichannel role leads setting and delivering against the strategic direction of a large portfolio, overseeing assortment, pricing, and negotiations to ensure competitive positioning and the achievement of profit and growth targets

What you'll do...

The Senior Director, Merchandising for our Kids & Baby business develops the portfolio strategy to align with broader business objectives, ensuring the delivery of profit and growth targets across all Channels. This involves managing the integrated Operation Plan and utilizing market segment research and depth of knowledge of the Fashion industry in Canada to create and execute a comprehensive portfolio strategy across Infant, Toddler, Boys, Girls, and more. The role is accountable for approving strategic category planning summaries and financial overviews, both short and long term, as well as leading the team in creating and finalizing Walmart-owned and national brand assortments that deliver what our customers want.

Forecasting sales, market share growth, gross profit, and inventory levels are crucial responsibilities. The role also involves approving pricing strategies, markdown actions, and collaborating with Category Managers and Replenishment to maintain budgeted inventory levels. Additionally, the role secures organizational resources to support capital investments and tests/pilots for future growth with a key role to play in working with our Customer team on effective customer engagement strategies to drive awareness, consideration, and conversion within Kids & Baby, Fashion, and across the Walmart box to key areas of shopping crossover.

The role ensures associate engagement and development, ensuring direct and indirect reports have current development, career, and succession plans. Providing coaching and direction to the merchandising team and mentoring associates across the business is essential.

The role also involves developing and maintaining key strategic vendor partnerships, ensuring vendors operate in alignment with organizational objectives and values. Collaboration with cross-functional partners to optimize assortment strategies and drive total sales is also a key responsibility.

Demonstrable Merchandising leadership experience with a track record of successful business performance and team managementExpertise in Fashion private brand development and / or national brand managementKnowledge of mass retail, ideally multi / omni-channel
