POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Learning and Development – Originations (Mortgage) leads the enterprise learning strategy for loan origination, overseeing daily training operations while advancing workforce capability aligned to production, quality, customer experience, and compliance objectives. This role is responsible for needs assessment, curriculum design, multimodal training delivery, governance of learning technologies (LMS/LXP), regulatory alignment (e.g., TRID under TILA‑RESPA), and continuous improvement through performance analytics.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Own the end‑to‑end originations onboarding experience for MLOs, processors, underwriters, and related specialists; define proficiency standards and certification gates.Embed TRID mastery through case‑based exercises, workflow scenarios, and job aids aligned with CFPB compliance resources.Integrate NMLS continuing education context (e.g., SAFE 8‑hour categories) into internal learning pathways, coordinate with approved providers when applicable.Lead quarterly learning reviews that connect training participation with production performance, audit outcomes, and compliance indicators; publish executive summaries and action plans.Standardize facilitation quality through instructor guides, rubrics, calibration sessions, peer observations, and targeted remediation.Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.Performs related duties as assigned by management.Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, HR/OD, or a related discipline; master’s degree in Human Resource Development/Organizational Development, Adult Education, or MBA preferred.10+ years of experience in training and learning & development, including 5+ years managing trainers/designers and leading enterprise‑level programs.5+ years of experience in mortgage operations or sales training strongly preferred.Professional certifications (ATD CPTD, SHRM‑CP/SCP, or equivalent) are desirable.Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
