Senior Director, Head of Valuation, Eastern China Job ID 244602 Posted 23-Oct-2025 Service line Advisory Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Valuations/Appraisal Location(s) Shanghai - Shanghai - China **About the Role:** AsHead of Valuation, Eastern China, you will oversee the department responsible for preparing market value appraisals on real estate properties.The summary of key roles and responsibilities of this role are: I. To generate and execute valuation assignments, forawide variety of clients, including private and public companies as well as individuals for a wide variety of purposes. Further, to take principal responsibility for the accuracy and quality of such assignments undertaken by the Department II. To take principal responsibility for the profitability of the Department and to plan and implement the Department’s annual business plan, consulting with the Senior Management on the planning. Further, to take principal responsibility for managing and monitoring the Department’s revenue and expenses to ensure that profitability is in line with Budget projections. III. To lead Department staff in nurturing existing client relationships and cultivating repeat business and referrals. IV. To build up a successful valuation team for the Department. V. To take principal responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the Department. VI. To ensure that all Valuation assignments are completed in accordance with Industry, client and internal CBRE Quality and Risk management requirements. **What You’ll Do:** • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and departmenttaskdeadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. • Create and execute strategic initiatives to meet the goals of the team. Identify high risk with company policies and procedures. Engage with current large and high-profile clients and create new relationships. • Communicate with staff and executive management team, managing workflow with discretion. Participate in meetings with executive management and support strategic initiatives. • Approve innovative technology suggestions and implement them to enhance productivity and quality. • Work with executive management to prepare a market budget and profit and loss statement. Support the execution of national and global platform-wide sales and marketing. • Prepare complex appraisal reports by describing physical and economic property characteristics, appraisal procedures used, and information analyzed, disclosing assumptions, and hypothetical and limiting conditions. • Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across the business. • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy. • Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions. **What You’ll Need:** • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Applicable Real Estate licenses or professional designations preferred. • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred. • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department. • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset.
