Position Summary...The ESG Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Walmart's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures. This strategic position bridges the gap between traditional financial reporting and the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting, bringing financial rigor and control expertise to non-financial data.

About the Team: 

Our team partners with business units to advance the maturity of global ESG disclosure governance. We focus on deepening capabilities such as forecasting and integrating complementary risk and compliance functions to achieve efficiencies. We ensure that ESG disclosures are accurate, well-substantiated, methodologically sound, and clearly presented.

What You’ll Do:

Review and approve the outcomes of metric, disclosure, and internal control validations to ensure data quality and audit readiness.Collaborate with business units to establish global governance and systems, fostering continuous process improvement and elevating the function's overall maturity.Track emerging legal and regulatory developments, integrating new procedures into operations where applicable to ensure compliance.Drive continuous process improvements in ESG data management and reporting, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.Ensure ESG disclosures are accurate, well-supported, utilize appropriate methodology, and are clearly presented in internal and external reports.

What You’ll Bring:

Extensive experience in internal controls, auditing, process mapping, and financial reporting, preferably within a large, global organization.Knowledge of ESG frameworks and regulations, coupled with practical operational experience, to effectively manage and report on ESG data.Proven ability to cultivate business partnerships while ensuring adherence to applicable rules, regulations, and company policies.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity.Strong understanding of data governance and integrity principles, with the ability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.The ability to navigate in a dynamic environment with the right combination of thought leadership and action orientated skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...
