The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on DBA experience, including advanced expertise in both MS SQL Server and Oracle databases. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and senior IS management to deliver robust database solutions, oversee implementation and maintenance, and drive best practices in database design and administration. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead database performance and capacity planning, defining frameworks and standards. + Collaborate with Project Managers, Software Development, and Business Analysts to ensure successful delivery of multiple initiatives. + Manage performance issues in custom code released to production. + Develop comprehensive test plans and maintain testing scripts. + Evaluate change management requests, including impact analysis and time/cost estimation. + Support and write scripts (Perl, shell, PL/SQL) for database monitoring and maintenance. + Define and implement database system architecture across environments. + Provide off-hour DB support on rotation as required. **What We’re Looking For:** + Post-secondary education in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. + 10+ years of DBA experience strongly preferred + MS SQL Server and Oracle databases Strongly preferred + Experience with data architecting, large-scale data modeling, and business intelligence; + Experience with Oracle Exadata, DataGuard and VEEAM backup solutions exposure considered an asset + Direct experience implementing enterprise data management processes and decision support. + Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. + Experience in capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for both SQL Server and Oracle. + Experience with multi-site replication, HA clustering, and disaster recovery solutions. + Knowledge of Web Services and SQL. + Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. + Strategic vision for database direction within the organization. + Hands-on experience with enterprise repository and data modeling tools. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio). + Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset. **Preferred/Good to Have:** + VEEM backup solutions exposure. + Experience with Oracle Exadata and DataGuard. + Database management/monitoring tools. + Microsoft Dynamics. + Experience with batch scheduling systems. + Knowledge of the Pharmacy Benefit Management Industry. **Why Join Us** + Competitive compensation, benefits and pension plan + Career development and advancement opportunities + A culture that celebrates innovation and collaboration + Flexible work options and wellness programs **AI Disclosure** If AI or automated tools are used in screening or assessment, include: 'This posting uses AI-assisted tools as part of the screening process.' **Pre-Employment Requirements** All offers of employment are conditional upon the successful completion of **reference checks and background verification** in accordance with company policy **.
