Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089
Duties: Develop and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models to build a large-scale recommender system serving millions of customers. Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging modern technologies to enhance the overall customer experience. Develop a next best action model to personalize different services, resulting in an overall improvement in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and customer profile health. Utilize Spark MLlib for large-scale machine learning, Hive/SQL for data retrieval from the data store, and Python for data analysis and preparation. Build sequential learning framework using the PyTorch framework, facilitating the effective processing of terabytes of customer in-session sequential data and historical understanding. Drive model deployment and the automation of tasks to ensure a smooth transition from development to production environments. Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and serve machine learning models, employing tools such as Git to enable effective collaboration on projects while maintaining a clean and organized codebase. Use efficient scheduling and automation tools such as AirFlow and Crontab to manage task timing and execution. Leverage cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to efficiently serve models to millions of customers, enabling faster inferencing and providing timely and relevant recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience deploying models on cloud computing platforms, including AWS and GCP. Experience using big data machine learning processing tools including Apache Spark and MLlib for efficient model building and inferencing. Experience with code, task, and documentation management software including Git, Jira, and Confluence. Experience with core machine learning algorithms, including regression, decision tree, and KNN, and applying them in real-life scenarios using machine learning libraries including Numpy, Scikit-learn, and Pandas. Experience using object-oriented programming in Python and Java. Experience designing and querying relational databases using SQL and utilizing NoSQL technology MongoDB for non-relational databases. Experience developing and implementing large-scale deep learning models using Pytorch. Experience with advanced statistical and mathematical techniques, including Bayesian statistics, hypothesis testing, and time series forecasting. Experience designing and managing data science experiments using AB testing, factorial design, multi-armed bandit, and t-tests. Experience using data visualization libraries, Seaborn and Matplotlib, for exploratory data analysis. Experience building and evaluating recommender system techniques and utilizing methods including collaborative filtering, factorization machine, and sequential modeling. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $144,075/year to $234,000 year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
