The Role:
As a BNEF Data Analyst, you'll help grow Bloomberg's renewable projects databases to further deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will be responsible for developing essential elements of our data product, including its data model, data pipelines, and data quality specifications. You will be expected to monitor market and industry trends to influence Bloomberg's best practices, tools, and technical infrastructure for data lifecycle management. Our Data Analysts possess a unique combination of technical skills, subject-matter-expertise in the energy industry, good communication skills and ability to build relationships with various partners such as Engineering and Product teams to propose, develop, and implement solutions for our clients. You'll collaborate closely with both our Data counterparts and the BloombergNEF Product team in Princeton, New York, London and Asia.
We'll trust you to:Design and manage workflow configurations for critical functions such as data acquisition, worklist management and quality controlUtilize technical expertise to assess and apply statistical methods, programming, and machine learning to enhance data quality, derive insights, and extract valuable informationPerform incident management, from troubleshooting and root cause analysis to overall problem managementPartner with a wide variety of team members from Engineering to Sales on product developmentAnalyze internal processes to find opportunities for improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutionsSynthesize customer feedback to shape data strategies and create an execution roadmapEnsure the data product meets the needs of stakeholders and seamlessly integrates with other data productsStay updated on market, industry, and dataset developments related to your area of supportMake well-informed decisions in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentReport on results of on-going operations and projects, as required
You’ll need to have:A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a relevant STEM field, or equivalent professional work experience3-5 years of data management experience, for example improving data quality, accuracy, efficiency or timelinessExperience in Data Profiling/Analysis using tools, such as Python, SQL, ExcelExperience using Analytical/Dashboarding applications, such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, SplunkPrevious work, internship and/or academic experience in data analysis, information technology and/or renewable energyStrong passion for data and the overall energy transition movementThe ability to think creatively and provide out of the box solutions with an eagerness to learn and collaborateA proven track record of successful project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordinglyInterest and/or experience in client and partner managementFamiliarity with data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologiesDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organizationStrong presentation and communication skills in English
