Senior Data Engineer- Azure and Snowflake (REMOTE)
Job Description A large healthcare client of ours is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data and analytics organization. This role will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data platforms using Azure cloud services and Snowflake, enabling enterprise reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision making. This is a fully remote role, working standard EST business hours. The Senior Data Engineer will architect and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, build enterprise data warehouse and data lake solutions, and ensure the reliability and performance of the organization’s cloud-based data platforms. This individual will work cross-functionally with data scientists, BI teams, and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Azure services and Snowflake • Architect and implement large-scale data warehouse and data lake solutions • Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory or similar tools • Support ingestion of both structured and unstructured data sources • Optimize Snowflake performance through partitioning, clustering, caching, and query tuning • Implement and maintain data quality, governance, and reliability frameworks • Implement CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and data pipeline issues • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices Compensation: $50-$56 per hour Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Azure Functions/Logic Apps preferred) • Extensive Snowflake experience including data warehouse design, performance tuning, security, streams, tasks, and time travel • Proficiency in SQL and Python • Strong understanding of data modeling (Kimball, Inmon) • Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD tooling • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Experience mentoring or coaching junior data engineers • Background working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments
