This position is a unique opportunity for an open-minded individual to operate in a start-up environment with the full support of the American Express and subsidiary Loyalty Partner organization.

PAYBACK Italy has millions of active customers who collect bonus points and redeem them across a wide range of retail, travel, and service industries. The business model creates added value for both customers and partners through CRM initiatives, targeted communications, and engagement activities.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The position will be part of PAYBACK Italy's Analytics Team and will work closely with partner management and coalition partners to understand market trends, maximize business results, and leverage analytical knowledge and skills.

Main tasks include:

Perform data analysis using programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Google BigQuery (GBQ).

Deliver KPI to measure business success and derive actionable insights into strategic decisions.

Provide consulting to PAYBACK and Partner Companies on targeting strategies and campaign optimization.

Develop and implement predictive and statistical models to support customer segmentation, forecasting, and campaign performance evaluation.

Collaborate closely with the PAYBACK analytics teams in Germany, Poland, and Austria to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.

 Minimum qualifications

Master’s degree in mathematics, Data Science, Statistics or similar focus with quantitative focus

1+ Years of quantitative, statistical or analytical experience, ideally in a consulting company

Good programming skills, with experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, SQL, or GBQ

Good communication, influencing, and storytelling skills for internal and external stakeholders

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability in presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint

Fluency in English and Italian (written and verbal) is required

Role is based in Rome

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in developing predictive and statistical models

Good understanding of the basic statistical concepts and methods (e.g. distributions, AB tests)

Experience with data visualization tools is a plus

GBQ certifications are a plus
