We are currently hiring a highly skilled lawyer for Commercial & Investment Bank Debt Capital Markets Legal. In this role, you will advise the (1) global loan operations team that supports the firm’s wholesale loan portfolio worldwide, and (2) product management and strategy team with oversight over the firm’s wholesale credit and lending products. You will leverage your legal knowledge to help coordinate the legal team’s role in supporting and advising on business, controls, and compliance initiatives, as well as various cross-line of business projects. If you are intellectually curious and have a passion for finding compliant solutions across a large organization you may be the perfect fit for our team.

Job Responsibilities:

Providing day to day legal advice to loan operations senior leaders and their respective teams globally on commercial lending matters, such as on market dynamics and loan document interpretation

 

Coordinating with outside counsel and internal operations, business, controls, and legal teams to address operational feasibility considerations at all stages of the loan product life cycle

 

Participating as a legal advisor in cross-line of business projects for the firm's loan operations teams, including initiatives focused on data, transformation, digitization, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and process improvement

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience

 

Prior experience with private equity or sponsor transactions, syndicated lending, secondary loan trading, real estate lending, specialty asset classes, and international transactions is preferred

 

Law degree. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment

 

All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment

 

Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail and a good team player

 

Polished verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills

 

Ability to manage projects and work independently
