Senior Counsel – Contract Intelligence and AI Integration
Overview

The Senior Counsel – Contract Intelligence and AI Integration will lead the implementation and oversight of artificial-intelligence-based contract review tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and risk management across the Legal Department. This attorney will analyze all incoming contracts using AI-driven platforms, identify potential risks or deviations, and collaborate with responsible attorneys to improve and standardize contract language. The role requires strong legal acumen combined with technological fluency and a commitment to innovation and process improvement.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Lead the deployment and continuous optimization of AI-powered contract review and analytics tools used by the Legal Department

Evaluate every contract submitted for legal review to identify key risks, missing terms, and inconsistencies using AI and machine-learning platforms

Collaborate with responsible attorneys to revise and enhance contract language based on AI recommendations and best practices

Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, clause libraries, and playbooks informed by AI data and business trends

Serve as subject-matter expert on legal AI applications and train attorneys and paralegals on effective use of AI tools

Collaborate with IT and Procurement to ensure secure integration of AI platforms and compliance with data-privacy and confidentiality requirements

Research and stay current on AI regulations, legal-ethics guidelines, and technology trends affecting contract management

Track and report metrics on contract review efficiency, risk identification, and process improvement outcomes

Assist the Assistant General Counsel and other department attorneys with complex contract negotiations and projects

Maintain organized records, deadlines, and workflows within the company’s contract management system

It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in-office at the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include but are not limited to:

Licensed to practice law in Texas or licensed in another state and eligible to become licensed in Texas within one year

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and risk management

Demonstrated experience with AI-driven contract review or document automation platforms (e.g., Ironclad, Evisort, Luminance, Harvey, etc.)

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Applications

Familiarity with Lexis and Westlaw legal research tools

Prior in-house experience preferred, especially in a high-volume contracting environment

Strong understanding of data-privacy, confidentiality, and AI-ethics principles in legal workflows
