Samsung is looking for an experienced, highly organized, detail-oriented attorney to support Samsung’s NASB business unit on privacy and data security matters. The position will be on site in the NYC office of Samsung Ads.
The role will report to the Head of Privacy and will work in an ongoing and collaborative way with the Samsung Ads business in carrying out its responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role must have deep substantive knowledge of adtech transactions and US privacy issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the Samsung Ads business on privacy issues in connection with the development of products, platforms, services, and other initiatives involving the collection and use of consumer data;Work closely with product and business development teams regarding product development and to negotiate data privacy terms in commercial agreements;Collaborate with legal teams in drafting and negotiating agreements for online advertising campaigns, streaming video services, performance-based marketing, and implementation of new technologies onto the company’s marketplace on its mobile and TV platforms.Monitor and advise Samsung businesses on developments in adtech commercial transactions requirements, as well as emerging legislation and regulations.Conduct privacy reviews and assist with data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).Recommend and draft policy changes, as necessary.Advise product teams on privacy-by-design strategies and principles for adtech technologies.Conduct training sessions and initiate privacy awareness campaigns.Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Law Degree and member of the US state bar in good standing;4 - 6 years of broad privacy and data protection, compliance or legal experience in the US market.3+ years of experience in the adtech and/or media streaming businesses.Comprehensive understanding of U.S. data privacy laws (e.g., CPRA, COPPA, VPPA, TCPA etc.)Strong transactional background, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions and counseling clients with respect to privacy and information security issues; andSolid knowledge of online advertising and data solutions (e.g., use of tracking technologies like cookies, programmatic advertising, data management platforms, data suppliers)Familiarity with the various online advertising roles and the data privacy issues associated with each (e.g., DSP, SSP, DMP, AVOD, SVOD, FAST, etc.).Demonstrated analytical experience, including experience assessing risk from a privacy and data protection perspectiveAbility to multitask and to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:
