Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting all phases of controls projects, including concept and research assistance, component selection, network and panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming, on-site installation and debugging, and after-sales support, while adhering to established guidelines.
Responsibilities
Understand AC/DC control systems and read component cut sheets.Assist and support the process for designing and delivering successful control systems.Support designing and developing layouts for electrical circuits or systems for power and control distribution.Assist in the production of detailed schematics.Support the Systems Checklist for projects during field installation and startup.Develop electrical diagrams efficiently and locate and correct mistakes in electrical diagrams.Essential Skills
PLC programming and troubleshooting.Controls engineering.AutoCAD proficiency.Experience with Rockwell and Rslogix.Commissioning of systems.Networking experience with sorters, singulators, conveyor systems, and material-handling equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.5+ years of controls engineering experience.Ability to write sortation code.Plan/hardware design capabilities.Basic knowledge of electrical equipment and local building codes such as UL508a, NEC, and NFPA.Hands-on mechanical and electrical capabilities.Experience in troubleshooting material handling equipment.Understanding of VFDs, servos, sensors, and vision systems.Work Environment
This position involves working in an office setting when not in the field, with travel required 50% or more on a 10-4 rotation. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
