We are seeking a Senior Communications Specialist who is a highly-motivated perfectionist, skilled at managing competing priorities and working with cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Communications Director, Enterprise Accounts & Strategic Channels, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the development and execution of strategic internal and external communication programs within a U.S. commercial organization. In this role, your work will include communications strategy and tactic development, employee engagement communications, internal stakeholder communications, strategic storytelling and external PR/thought leadership, and digital communications deployment. This role is also responsible for ensuring consistency of on-brand messaging across internal and external channels. This role supports U.S. time zones and is intended to be an in-person position in Minneapolis, MN. 

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Lead the development and execution of integrated communication initiatives that inspire and engage both internal and external audiences.

Shape and amplify Medtronic’s reputation by managing impactful communication activities that align with our Mission and business priorities.

Craft and deliver compelling narratives for internal stakeholders, external audiences, and media through strategic storytelling, digital channels, and integrated campaigns.

Drive internal communication initiatives that connect employees to Medtronic’s Mission, fostering alignment with business strategies through innovative programs and content.

Create and oversee high-quality written and visual content, including presentations, scripts, articles, press releases, social media content, sales enablement communications, and more, ensuring alignment with brand voice and messaging.

Partner with senior leadership to craft and deliver impactful communications that resonate with diverse audiences and reinforce organizational goals.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field

Experience in digital channel management, including email marketing and intranets, such as Eloqua, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Microsoft SharePoint

Familiarity with LinkedIn best practices, content formats, and basic analytics to support ongoing content optimization

Ability to research topics and draft clear, engaging thought leadership content that reflects a leader’s voice and point of view

Experience building and editing PowerPoint presentations using templates, style guides, and feedback from senior stakeholders

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$85,600.00 - $128,400.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
