Senior Commissioning Manager Job ID 254230 Posted 05-Jan-2026 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Building Surveying/Consultancy, Consulting Location(s) Remote - US - Remote - US - United States of America **Turner & Townsend** is seeking a **Senior Commissioning Manager** to support a high-profile program of projects for a US multinational technology company. This individual will be responsible for coordinating commissioning activities for multiple concurrent projects, with a strong focus on tracking and reporting status to owner stakeholders validating that clients requirements are implemented, satisfied and documented. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, bring deep technical expertise from working in the field, strong leadership, high level organizational skills with a proven background in developing managing and continually improving building commissioning process for significant and complex construction programs. This position will be remote within the US and require regular travel to various client sites. **What you will do:** + Serve as client facing building commissioning subject matter expert. + Develop, manage, coordinate, validate and document commissioning process for multiple concurrent projects. + Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders. + Effective communication across our internal teams to ensure efficiency and consistent delivery to the client across all projects in the program. + Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip. + Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized. + Ensure consistent application of best practice on all projects. + Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required. + Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design and construction standards are being applied correctly. + Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications. + Forecast and update key project milestones. + Support development of Owners Project requirements. Review and comment on Basis of Design provided by Architect / Engineer. + Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commissioning criteria - review designs at each stage of development and comment. + Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders. + Rapid response to RFIs from the field. + Provide expertise to support cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required. + Independent review of reports, submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers. + Identify, document and track commissioning issues actively managing satisfactory resolution. + Client management - assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities. + Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives. + Knowledge management - ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured. + Process improvement - Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes + SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. **Program Responsibilities:** + Oversee, coordinate and document all phases of commissioning from preconstruction through 1 year post occupation including design coordination, procurement, installation, and closeout commissioning activities. + Ensure alignment with project goals, client expectations, and quality standards. + Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. + Develop and update as necessary commissioning program documentation including commissioning specifications, commissioning plan, review reports, field reports, pre functional checks, functional performance tests, project commissioning reports, etc. + Maintain clear communication with clients, designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. + Oversee and report on installation status in the field against the General Contractor’s schedule and report on this daily and as required by the owner + Review and provide feedback against the GC contract schedule to mitigate and expose opportunities to avoid any impacts to the critical path. + Provide Cx subject matter expertise in MEP systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Monitoring and Automated Building/Energy Management systems. + Validate compliance with design specifications, codes, and industry standards on field walks as part of QA/QC responsibilities. + Identify project risks and report feedback on mitigation strategies to the General Contractor and owner + Validate that all MEP work meets quality and safety standards. + Manage method of procedure (MOP) review, feedback and execution. + Maintain/contribute to site progress photo logs and reporting. + Coordinate, lead, direct and document functional acceptance testing of MEP systems. + Develop and submit the project commissioning records + Assist in managing the closeout of all CX issues identified in the field with project stakeholders. Identify, document and track commissioning issues actively managing satisfactory resolution. **What you must have:** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + Minimum 8+ years of commissioning management experience. + Experience with large scale HVAC systems, piping distribution, ventilation, building controls, energy management systems. + Experience with MEP design + Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, Facility Grid and other construction project management tools. + Project management tools + Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies. + Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Experience: + Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate and direct the work of others + Certified Commissioning Professional and or Professional Engineer preferred. + Prefer proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1 -5 ) + Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs. Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is 140,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is 180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend’s applicable benefit program.
