**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Senior Cloud Engineer** to join our team at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure to support machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads within the Army Intelligence & Security Enterprise (AISE). This role will focus on ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency of cloud environments while enabling seamless integration of AI/ML solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver mission-critical cloud capabilities. **Job Duties:** + Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads and real-time analytics. + Optimize cloud environments for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. + Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to deploy and manage machine learning models in the cloud. + Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. + Ensure compliance with security protocols and governance policies for cloud-based systems. + Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. + Stay updated on advancements in cloud technologies and best practices for AI/ML workloads. + Support the operational integration of AI/ML solutions to enhance intelligence capabilities. **Qualifications** **Required Education:** + Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. **Qualifications:** + Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). + Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). + Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). + Experience with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, or similar frameworks for tasks like natural language processing (NLP), text generation, summarization, or conversational AI. + Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. **Desired Qualifications:** + Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. + Experience with hybrid cloud environments and edge computing. + Familiarity with Army Intelligence Enterprise data requirements and workflows. + Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for deploying and maintaining AI/ML models. **Clearance:** + Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly.
