Day (United States of America)Job Summary:\rIn developing the infrastructure for a robust program that supports the health and well-being of our clinical workforce (physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical residents, etc.), the Senior Clinician Well-Being Consultant is a critical team member supporting the Office of Clinician Well-Being (OCW). Reporting to the Director of Operations for the OCW, the Senior Clinician Well-Being Consultant will have a clinical background in counseling or psychology that can be leveraged to support OCW aims and will work directly with medical residents in a consulting and support capacity and will lead and/or support larger team initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of clinicians. The Consultant serves as a trusted resource and advocate for clinicians, offering individualized support, facilitating well-being interventions, and contributing to strategic initiatives that promote resilience and reduce burnout. This role requires clinical training, knowledge, and insights, as well as strong interpersonal skills, fluency in medical culture, and a deep understanding of the psychological and systemic factors that impact clinician well-being. The Consultant will also contribute to educational programming, research, and quality improvement efforts that advance the science and practice of clinician well-being across the organization. While (s)he will help the OCW meet the broad needs of Wellstar clinicians, the Consultant should have a particular passion and understanding of how to help medical residents adjust to the demands of medical training, responsibilities associated with their new role, etc.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rClinician Support\rCollaborates with OCW psychologist(s) to review Comprehensive Well-Being Panels to support interventions for individual clinicians as well as teams.\rHelps to develop care pathways to support Wellstar clinicians in preventing occupational burnout and/or intervening to manage/mitigate occupational burnout.\rSupports OCW clinician retreats, including data interpretation, provision of 1:1 feedback, and post-retreat follow-up, as needed.\rParticipates in the Clinician Support on-call schedule to triage needs and help connect clinicians with needed coaching and/or connection to quality mental health resources, as needed.\rLeads or assists in leading initiatives that fall under the AMAs Joy in Medicine Support pillar (e.g., coaching, in-basket cross coverage, removing stigmatizing credentialing language).\rIs able to show efficacy and outcomes of support initiatives.\rConducts 1-1 consults with clinicians to make appropriate support recommendations and follows up as needed.\rOther Responsibilities\rWork closely with the Graduate Medical Education (GME) training directors to develop resident-specific programming to mitigate the stress associated with training, cultural adjustments, managing work-life responsibilities, etc.\rPartners with other members of the OCW to develop processes to routinize the assessment of well-being among Wellstar residents and other clinicians.\rPartners with the Wellstar Resident Well-Being Council to identify upstream methods to reduce work-related stress and advocates for resources for residents as needed.\rParticipates in clinician well-being councils; OCW research, strategy, and operational meetings; team events (e.g., retreats, camaraderie) and other team forums to carry out departmental priorities.\rCollaborates with the OCW Clinician Psychologist(s), Peer Support Program Manager, other members of the OCW team, and clinical leadership (e.g., residency directors) on initiatives aimed at improving clinician well-being.\rEducation/Didactics\rOffers Grand Rounds on topics that highlight research related to medical resident well-being throughout the course of the year.\rGives presentations on a range of well-being topics to a clinical audience, locally, nationally, and/or internationally.\rSocializes well-being science through participation in podcasts, clinician well-being newsletter spotlights, etc.\rProvides guest lectures to medical residents and on request from other Wellstar departments.\rResearch/Quality Improvement\rAssists with novel translational research and quality improvement (QI) initiatives, which aim to scientize the field of well-being and develop high-impact initiatives that enable purposeful contributions for Wellstar clinicians.\rSupports other OCW team members by functioning as peer reviewer to aid in the refining of concepts and helping the OCW develop a robust but high-quality research program.\rConducts reviews and advises on QI or research projects by identifying psychological measures/tools that could help demonstrate the effectiveness of projects.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:Masters Social Work or Masters Counseling or Masters Mental Health Services or Masters Other or Doctorate Clinical Psychology-Preferred or Doctorate Counseling-Preferred\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rLicensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Preferred or\rLicensed Clinical Social Worker Upon Hire Preferred or\rLicensed Clinical or Counseling Psychologist Upon Hire Preferred or\rLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist Upon Hire Preferred or\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 10 years Experience following completion of masters level training Required and\rMinimum 5 years Experience in a hospital or medical setting Required and\rMinimum 3 years Have experience using an electronic health record Required and\rMinimum 3 years Experience administering, interpreting, and giving feedback on psychometrically valid assessment measures Required and\rMinimum 5 years Experience working in a medical healthcare setting with physicians, APPs, and/or medical residents Required\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rAbility to consult effectively with clinicians, establishing him/herself as a trusted peer and colleague\rFluency with medical nomenclature is needed, as is a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by clinicians across different clinical settings\rExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, from frontline healthcare staff to senior executives\rKnowledge of burnout and engagement science is advantageous\rKnowledge of professional legal and ethical standards concerning healthcare workforces and patient care environments\rAbility to work collaboratively across disciplines and influence at all levels of the organization\rProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite\rThe candidate for this role must possess a genuine interest in supporting the health and well-being of other clinicians\rStrong attention to detail and accuracy and a sense of personal accountability\rSelf-motivated and well organized with strong time management skills\rAbility to work independently or in a team environment and act as a mentor to less experienced team membersJoin us and discover the support to do more meaningful workâand enjoy a more rewarding life.
