Senior Chaplain Educator

Job Description

Conducts Clinical Pastoral Education programs according to standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Develops and maintains curriculum, guides students' clinical work, and provides educational opportunities.

Job Responsibility

 

Conducts timely admissions interviews, communicates admission decisions, and processes application materials in a professional manner.  Assigns, reviews, and comments on students’ written materials in a timely manner; evaluates students’ personal and professional functioning, writes evaluative reports in accordance with standards, and completes registration forms for students who complete their program.  Collaborates with management on projects, facilitates and attends Pastoral Care and Education Advisory Committee meetings to inform members of educational activities and receives advice about maintaining standards of excellence in the program; collaborates with management to provide chaplaincy care coverage and participates in other chaplaincy care programs, as assigned.  Supports an interdisciplinary approach to chaplaincy care; participates in team meeting and rounds.  Serves on institutional committees, as appointed; participates in programs and administrative activities of the institution.  Assists in the coordination of clergy and pastoral visitors from the religious community; adheres to departmental policies and procedures.  Keep records of chaplaincy activities to communicate with other members of the department and report to the department/institution; participates in the department’s plan for continuous quality improvement.  Contributes to the wider community through publication, teaching and research; authors or co-authors materials relevant to spiritual care and chaplaincy education.  Participates in regular professional development activities and supervision; participates in the planning and administration of the overall training program.  Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Job Qualification

 

Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Current Association of Professional Chaplains Certification, or Current National Association of Catholic Chaplains Certification, or Current Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains Certification, and Current Supervisor Clinical Pastoral Education Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed. 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
