Primary Purpose:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to support strategic initiatives and production requirements onsite at both Albany, Oregon facilities - Selmet, Inc. and Pacific Cast Technologies (PCT), Inc. This role requires sourcing and negotiating to procure the most value from suppliers and meet supply demands while building strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Procurement
+ Provide support at multiple locations for daily procurement of goods and services and expedite as needed to prevent production delays.
+ Ensure consistent quality, availability, and continuity of supply to meet required schedules and inventory levels.
+ Build strong vendor relationships in the aerospace supply chain with responsibility for raw material and supply portfolio of $25mil.
+ Prepare bid requests for complex equipment, goods, and services and evaluate quotations.
+ Manage purchase order details in internal databases and review orders for proper authorization and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
+ Establish and renew annual purchase orders and coordinate renewal activity within procurement team.
+ Lead by example with excellent initiative, reliability, and consistency.
+ Maintain compliance with contractual agreements and customer requirements related to procurement.
+ Troubleshoot invoice and delivery concerns for effective resolution with suppliers.
Process Improvement
+ Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including inventory management and restock automation.
+ Drive improvements in efficient order management, on-time delivery tracking, and supplier performance management.
+ Implement strategic sourcing to qualify and maintain supply base of high-quality products and services that are cost competitive.
+ Prepare and update work instructions for purchasing systems and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Strong experience with strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
+ Ability to make decisions independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
+ Understanding of compliance with Customer and Government contracts and requirements, including Export Control.
+ Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and effective presentation skills.
+ Exceptional operation of computing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Operation of enterprise software, such as Infor Visual and/or Syteline preferred. Experience with Material Requirement Planning systems preferred.
+ Effectively learn new software.
+ Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.
Education, Certifications and Experience:
+ At least 5 years of purchasing experience required. Manufacturing experience preferred.
+ High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Purchasing Certificate preferred.
Work Conditions:
+ We are a manufacturing operations organization. Our collective work happens onsite. This position is Day shift, Monday-Friday.
+ Travel requirements will vary based on business need. Frequent travel between the two facilities in Albany is required, and some offsite meetings/events may be required.
+ The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate but the employee will be exposed to higher noise levels when required to be in manufacturing areas. The individual may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery, and vehicles when in the manufacturing areas.
