Senior Buyer – Aerospace Raw Materials (Southwick/Westfield, MA)Position Overview

The Senior Buyer leads raw‑material procurement for aerospace manufacturing operations, ensuring competitive pricing, strong supplier performance, and reliable delivery. This role functions as a working leader—training, guiding, and supporting other buyers while driving purchasing excellence across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Purchasing & Supplier ManagementLead raw‑material procurement activities for aerospace manufacturing, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing and on‑time delivery.Conduct market research to identify trends, evaluate suppliers, and support strategic sourcing decisions.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times to secure favorable terms and mitigate supply risk.Manage purchase orders from creation through delivery, resolving quality, delivery, or performance issues.Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor ongoing performance.Leadership & Team SupportServe as a working leader by training, mentoring, and guiding junior buyers.Oversee new‑hire onboarding and support team development.Allocate workload and monitor KPIs to ensure efficient purchasing operations.Remove bottlenecks and foster a collaborative, high‑performance team environment.Operational ExcellenceDrive process improvements and support cross‑functional projects.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal procedures.Analyze purchasing data to reduce cost, mitigate risk, and improve supplier performance.Maintain ERP accuracy (Visual ERP preferred) and support production planning through reliable data.Coordinate logistics to support production schedules and material flow.Participate in production meetings to align purchasing activities with operational needs.Required Skills & QualificationsExpert‑level negotiation skillsExperience with raw materials (aerospace preferred)Proficiency with Visual ERP or similar systemsBlueprint interpretation and understanding of manufacturing requirementsSupplier management expertiseStrong communication and leadership abilitiesAbility to multitask and problem‑solve independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environmentExperience LevelExpert / Senior Buyer levelManufacturing and aerospace industry experience strongly preferredWork EnvironmentOnsite role in a manufacturing setting (Southwick/Westfield, MA)Requires strong time management, cross‑functional collaboration, and hands‑on leadership.Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Southwick, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
