We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to lead complex procurement activities in support of government projects. This role is pivotal in sourcing, negotiating, and managing acquisitions while ensuring strict compliance with federal regulations, including the FAR. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in 5 years of federal contracting, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full lifecycle procurement for high-value government contracts.Develop solicitations (RFQs, RFPs, IFBs), evaluate bids, and recommend awards.Negotiate contracts and administer supplier performance and closeouts.Ensure compliance with FAR and internal policies; support audits.Mentor junior procurement staff and collaborate across departments.Qualifications:

ResponsibilitiesLead complex government procurement activities by managing the full lifecycle procurement for high-value and complex purchases in accordance with FAR and agency-specific regulations. Develop and issue solicitations (RFQs, RFPs, IFBs), evaluate supplier responses, and make award recommendations.Conduct strategic sourcing and supplier development by identifying and qualifying suppliers capable of supporting government requirements, driving cost-saving and efficiency initiatives, and conducting supplier assessments.Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery with suppliers. Administer contracts, monitor performance, process modifications, and ensure timely closeouts.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Identify procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies, support internal and external audits.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers or procurement staff. Collaborate with legal, finance, project management, and technical teams to align procurement strategy with program goals.Apply working knowledge of FAR, regulations, and Public Law, staying abreast of current state and federal regulations and business practices related to the area of assignment.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing, accounting, or materials management environment.Experience with U.S. Government contracting procurement regulations (FAR).Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.Additional Skills & QualificationsPurchasing certification such as CPPB, CPPO, or CPM.Administration and small business liaison experience.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
