Senior Business Systems Analyst, Occupancy

Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Occupancy Tech team. The mandate is to help deliver digital applications that aim to aid and assist RBC employees to better interact with their workplace, and to use AI to develop enable smart workplace management.

You will be part of an agile development team that works with a broad range of technologies, internal teams, and third party vendor partners. You will be leading Business Systems Analysis activities on a variety of small – large sized projects (including AI use cases) and demonstrate advance knowledge in all aspects of requirements planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, and support planning.


The role also requires support for change management, IT governance, and audit and compliance requests.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Prepare requirements documentation for review by applying various communication techniques and lead walkthrough & sign off sessions with stakeholders

Develop estimates for completing requirements and continuously improve the level of detail & accuracy of estimates for future initiatives

Define the business analysis approach, tasks, and deliverables based on the Agile methodology

Manage the team backlog in JIRA and lead the backlog grooming scrum ceremonies

Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements using RBC’s best practices 

Maintain a repository of application information & documentation in Confluence 

Partner with 3rd party vendors to ensure that product configuration & customization is aligned to business requirements

Collaborate with the Development & Quality Engineering teams to ensure that the requirements, test approach, and acceptance criteria are understood

Communicate the impact of changes through cost-benefit analysis taking into consideration time, effort, and business priorities 
Provide guidance and support to build the capabilities of Junior Business Systems Analysts

Establish an environment of cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork among colleagues, stakeholders, and vendor partners

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

2+ years of experience with business systems analysis and software development.

Familiarity with programming and database scripting languages (Python / Java / SQL)

Experience delivering projects using Agile processes and ceremonies - Ability to effectively manage the team backlog in JIRA and lead the Backlog Grooming Scrum Ceremonies

Experience in performing the analysis & documentation for Scope Modeling, Business Process Maps, Use Cases, Data Catalogues, Business Rules, Non Functional Requirements, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria

Knowledge of collaboration tools – JIRA and Confluence

Experience with vendor managed applications

Familiarity with IT Service Management / Change Management processes in a large organization

Nice-to-have:

Experience in the banking industry

Experience on workplace technology applications and devices, Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS), and mobile application development

Familiarity with Confluence and Jira
