About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives related to financial research, analysis, and reporting
Review and analyze moderately complex financial data while providing a broad expertise and unique skills used to develop key metrics reporting, including but not limited to budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting, reviews, and presentation
Contribute to large scale planning such as economic research in support of management decision making
Research key financial metric forecasting projections as well as management of financial reporting to support forecasting and budgeting processes
Develop strategies and make recommendations for forward financial planning as well as enhancing financial reporting
Lead projects to meet the implementation of moderately complex projects impacting one or more lines of business and exercise independent judgment while leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Establish effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standard and internal control standards
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
CA / CMA / MBA Graduate with financial or banking sectors including monthly close / management reporting / dashboard / presentations / commentary / Analytics experience, with minimum of 2+ years integrating AI into financial workflows.
Progressive track record of management reporting experience with familiarity of running and or working in a geographically diverse team.
Strong Financial analysis and experience in providing timely and relevant recommendations to drive business decisions and outcomes.
Collaborate with business and other finance team members to deliver seamless integration of financial reporting and analytics to support business strategies and facilitate business and pricing decisions.
Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, Macros, Power BI, Power Apps, PowerPoint and BI tools.
Proficiency in AI frameworks and tools adoption (e.g., Python, Copilot, generative AI), data querying (SQL), and advanced analytics platforms (Power BI, SAS, Tableau).
Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyze business transactions and identify key Finance risks/mitigating controls,
Ability to work under pressure and maintain high energy levels.
Must be able to work independently with positive collaboration within a fast paced, team environment.
Job Expectations:
Ensure that monthly and quarterly financial books are closed accurately and on time.
Understanding on Loans & Deposits products a Must and banking fundamentals
Helping craft and load the monthly forecast and annual budget
Monitor costs by comparing forecasts to actuals and provide variance analysis to stakeholders.
Conduct in-depth research on financial and operational data, analyze, interpret, and report findings while collaborating with business partners.
Collect financial data, perform high-level analysis, test for accuracy, and resolve complex problems.
Report to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis for the Commercial Banking segment.
Perform complex variance and trend analyses and provide guidance to business partners on relevant financial policies.
Reconcile and consolidate extensive data, perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to forecast outcomes, and create key metrics for monitoring.
Analyze trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially financial metrics, and identify causes of unexpected variances.
Evaluate financial results and associated reporting, conduct financial and commercial studies to develop analyses.
Create and/or monitor systems or models to predict financial outcomes.
Recommend business strategies and provide input to strategic plans based on various analyses.
Understand economic, headcount, and year-to-date trends to provide variance analysis.
Demonstrate strong financial acumen and provide strategic and analytic support to business teams.
Suggest innovative ideas to improve processes.
Possess strong skills in modern tools like Power BI, Alteryx, and Python.
Experience with machine learning models (ML), large language models (LLM), natural language processing (NLP), and generative AI tools are essential.
Customer and portfolio level reporting and analytics leveraging ProfitView and other systems of record
Monthly financial packages out of Hyperion Essbase
Coaching and mentoring junior resources
