Job Description

Brookfield Asset Management’s North America hospitality holdings total over 29,000 guestrooms across 100+ properties valued at ~$10 billion across multiple different chain scales (from Economy to Luxury). We seek to maximize asset value in each of our assets through renovation, rebranding, expansion or other value. BPG also owns hospitality assets outside of North America. Our global portfolio also contains premier assets in Europe, the UK, Asia and Australia.

Brookfield is seeking a Senior Associate who will focus primarily on opportunistic corporate-level and direct hotel real estate acquisitions for BSREP. In addition to working on opportunistic investments for BSREP, the Senior Associate will gain exposure to other real estate investment strategies through other Brookfield sponsored investment platforms. 

Responsibilities

Performing complex financial analysis and valuations

Conducting market research

Lead due diligence streams and transaction closing

Writing investment committee memorandum and presenting investment recommendations.

Work closely with junior and senior team members, senior management, Brookfield affiliates and investors

Networking with investment bankers, brokers, owners, and brands, etc. to optimize deal flow

Working closely with the asset management team throughout the investment process and facilitating a smooth transition post-closing

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, real estate, hospitality management or a related field

4-7 years of experience in investment banking, M&A, real estate investing, and/or private equity

Exceptional analytical, financial modeling and valuation skills

Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Self-directed and motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable, diligent, and hard working with capability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-moving environment

Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Extensive knowledge of hotel operations and capital markets, ideally with a track record of closing hotel transactions

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

Leadership capabilities and a business builder

Unquestionable ethics and integrity

Salary Range: $250,000 - 280,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
