From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.
Job overview and responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will support AO/NOC leaders by conducting analyses on various operational drivers and providing data driven business insights. The position requires strong emphasis on statistical concepts, visualization and business analysis to help generate actionable insights. The Senior Analyst will need to have strong technical and analytical background and be able to deliver results with limited supervision. The person must have experience to be able to extract insights from large volumes of data and be able to clearly communicate relevant triggers and recommendations.
• Able to translate business requirement/problem into a comprehensive analytical framework using modeling/statistical technique
• Apply statistical techniques and relevant concepts to generate actionable insights driving business performance
• Prepare presentations for United leadership and external groups
• Pro-actively identify problems and opportunities and perform root cause analysis/diagnosis leading to significant business impact
• Create and modify daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and analyses as needed; take ownership of reporting structure and metrics in order to more clearly and effectively communicate relevant information to decision-makers and day-to-day operations employees at headquarters, in field offices, and at airports
• Extract and analyze data from relational databases and reporting systems

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a quantitative discipline like Applied Mathematics, Statistics4+ years analysis experience Knowledge of Python or RVisually creative, hands-on knowledge and development experience on Tableau/ Spotfire/ PowerBIProven analytical and quantitative ability; use data and metrics to validate hypothesis and perform root cause analysesStrong experience in querying and manipulating relational databases via Teradata SQL Assistant, Oracle SQL Developer, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft AccessProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint4+ years analysis experience if bachelor’s degree;Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorshipMust be fluent in English (written and spoken)Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
