We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst - Business Development to join our Consumer & Commercial team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a goal-oriented, self-directed professional with strong underwriting experience and a passion for expanding business through effective risk assessment and client solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple tasks efficiently while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.Understand clients’ risk perspectives and develop tailored solutions to mitigate risks.Deliver proactive service within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Turnaround Times (TATs).Drive business growth by acquiring new sales, clients, and territories.Develop complex sales proposals and presentations for prospective accounts.Conduct thorough due diligence research to identify and understand sales opportunities.Oversee the sales process from prospecting to quote presentation, ensuring quality and satisfaction.Evaluate insurance applications to assess risk exposure and set appropriate terms.Review insurer recommendations and endorsements, liaising with Tier 1 and brokers.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as FAIS and POPIA.Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications.Communicate effectively with insurers, brokers, and internal teams to negotiate terms and resolve queries.Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience in underwriting and commercial sales.Insurance qualification (preferably ACII, HCII, or Fellowship).RE 5 certification and FAIS compliance with proof of CPD credits.Fluent in Afrikaans and English.Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.Proven track record of delivering client solutions and new business growth.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM software.Own transport and a valid driver’s license.Matric certificate.Preferred Personal Attributes
