Job overview and responsibilities
The Senior Analyst supports the financial operations of United Aviate Academy. Responsible for all financial processes including budget tracking, billing, receivables, payables, financial reporting/statements, forecasting, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, contract planning/financial review, payroll, revenue recognition, light tax related functions, analysis and reporting, and audit preparation.
Work closely with and report to the Director, Finance Controller working in partnership with the parent company United and their accounting/finance/treasury team members. Collaborate with a small team covering payroll, receivables, and payables.
Preparation of year-end books and audit schedules, and coordination with internal and external auditors on requests for audits

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area5 to 8 years related experience in accounting field.Accounts payable, general ledger, and balance sheetExperience with ERP systemsThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience processing and/or managing month-end, quarter-end, year-end processes, developing reports, and auditingKnowledge and understanding of finance/accounting systems and designing processes and proceduresProficiency with Microsoft Office products, finance, and accounting systemsAdvanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros, and what-if analysisStrong ability to use data & analytics; determine key decisions and identify actions for best resultsKnowledge of accounting/financial statements, policies and procedures including SOX controlsAbility to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspectiveAbility to thrive within ambiguity and drive complex projects and day-to-day initiatives/taskThink strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
