Senior Accounting Manager
Job Description The Senior Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the general ledger close process, U.S. GAAP financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements. This position requires a hands‑on, detail‑oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience both in a public accounting firm and in industry within a public company environment. The Senior Accounting Manager will be adept at handling complex accounting tasks. Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This person will manage the accounts payable function, monthly close of accounts, and preparation of reports in support of financial statements. The Senior Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Controller and others across the organization in analyzing and reconciling accounts, and in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, a strong operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self‑starter, flexible, demonstrates a high level of integrity, and is action‑ and goal‑oriented in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities  • Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring all costs are properly recorded; review journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting packages  • Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including process and system improvements  • Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and business practices  • Participate in strategic financial projects, including ERP and ancillary system upgrades or implementations  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment  • Collaborate with external auditors to support successful audits and compliance  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver timely and accurate month‑end close and internal/external financial reporting  • Oversee chart of accounts structure, scalability, and overall general ledger accuracy; provide final authority on transaction classification and booking  • Analyze statutory accounting practices and regulatory guidance to ensure proper application of GAAP  • Recommend process improvements and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses  • Support tax preparation by compiling relevant financial information  • Work closely with Audit, Tax, and Treasury leadership to coordinate accounting activities through year‑end  • Prepare variance analyses against budget  • Evaluate and advise on financial and accounting processes  • Develop and communicate cash flow projections  • Supervise and support a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants, ensuring motivation, development, and performance We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field  • 8–10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of team management  • Strong experience with accounting systems and data analytics tools  • Highly effective leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and project management abilities • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field  • CPA certification  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
