AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our small, dynamic accounting team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with high-level executives and contribute to the financial success of the organization.

ResponsibilitiesPost account payables and maintain vendor files.Prepare expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail.Reconcile travel and credit card statements monthly.Reconcile monthly bank statements and investment portfolio statements.Maintain monthly depreciation and amortization schedules.Prepare monthly journal entries and ensure financial data is accurate.Conduct month-end and year-end closings efficiently.Track royalty payments and update licensing database and worksheets.Assist with the annual audit by preparing schedules and providing support as needed.Respond to information requests internally and externally promptly.Support the accounting team in daily operations and assist as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.Sound understanding of accounting principles, including accrual and cash basis.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.Strong time management and organizational skills.Accuracy and attention to detail are critical.Ability to take initiative and ownership of work.Good analytical, judgment, and troubleshooting skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Comfortable working in a small office environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsStudying for or possessing a current CPA License is preferred.Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.Experience in accounting and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles.Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, preferably SAP.Familiarity with financial accounting statements.Work Environment

You will work in a small office environment with a tight-knit accounting team, including the Assistant Accountant and Accountant. This setting offers great exposure to high-level executives and a long-term incentive plan for profit sharing. There is an opportunity for advancement as the current team leader plans to retire soon, creating a pathway for the right person to transition into a higher role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $49.00/hr.
