Description We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our manufacturing team in the greater Plymouth, Wisconsin area. In this critical role, you will oversee accounting operations, with a strong focus on cost accounting and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely monthly closings. • Prepare, review, and post journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals with precision. • Oversee inventory and cost balances while investigating and addressing any discrepancies. • Provide functional oversight for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities carried out by the accounting team. • Collaborate with operations to refine labor routings, work centers, and overhead cost drivers. • Develop and refine standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead to improve cost visibility. • Generate detailed margin and cost reports for products, product families, and jobs. • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparations. • Document and enhance accounting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen cost reporting and operational insights. Requirements • A minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis. • Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience in NetSuite being highly preferable. • Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close activities and prepare financial statements. • Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills to handle complex accounting tasks. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide functional direction to accounting staff.
