Senior Accountant 

The Senior Accountant, based in our Global Capability Center (GCC), will be a key contributor to the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records. This role involves performing complex general ledger accounting, financial closing activities, internal and external reporting preparation, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, local GAAP). The successful candidate will drive process efficiency, support internal controls, and collaborate closely with regional finance teams across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Ledger & Financial Close

Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures with adherence to deadlines, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries. Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of critical general ledger accounts, ensuring variances are investigated and resolved promptly. Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliation, and settlement processes in collaboration with global partners. Oversee fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and foreign currency revaluation processes.

 

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance

Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reporting packages, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements. Support the coordination of internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries. Ensure adherence to all internal controls and company policies.

 

3. Treasury Operations & Cash Management

Weekly Cash Position: Monitor, reconcile and report the cash balances cash position to the central treasury function. Cash Flow Support: Assist the central Treasury team in preparing short-term cash flow forecasts by providing accurate data on incoming collections and outgoing disbursements. Bank Relationship Support: Act as the primary contact point within the GCC for managing operational issues with local banks (e.g., setting up new accounts, managing signatories, resolving payment issues).

 

4. Process Improvement & Collaboration

Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and efficiency gains within the GCC accounting function. Participate in special projects related to system upgrades, process migration, and optimization initiatives. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to train and mentor junior staff on complex accounting concepts and GCC processes. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Accounts Payable, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury) and remote business unit finance teams.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Good to have: Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance. Previous experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC), Shared Services, or a multinational environment is a strong plus.

 

Skills & Competencies

·       An understanding of accounting principles and standards, such as GAAP or IFRS. ·       Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and prevent errors or discrepancies in financial information. ·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify the root cause of problems, propose solutions to corrective actions. ·       Able to convey complex financial information clearly, both verbally and in writing. ·       Able to work independently and with others, to contribute to team goals. ·       Must maintain high ethical standards, meet confidentiality requirements, to ensure the security and privacy of financial data. ·       Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial management tools.
